Why You Should Join SIM CFL-Tech Leaders Think Pink:

At the Society for Information Management's Central Florida Chapter, we believe in the power of technology to transform lives—but we also believe in the strength of community, compassion, and collective action. As a professional association of technology leaders, our mission centers around three core pillars: knowledge sharing, leadership & professional development, and giving back to our community.

This October, we’re putting those pillars into motion as we lace up our sneakers and join the fight against breast cancer through the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.

Why are we walking? Because breast cancer has touched too many lives—our colleagues, our families, our friends. And as leaders in our field, we know that real impact comes when we combine innovation with heart. Whether it’s driving change in the boardroom or walking together in pink, we show up for what matters.

Our team, proudly walking as “Tech Leaders Thinking Pink,” is committed to raising awareness, supporting survivors, and funding life-saving research. This walk is more than a step—it’s a statement. A statement that together, we can build a future defined not just by technical excellence, but by empathy, equity, and hope.

From firewalls to fighting cancer—we’ve got this.

Join us. Support us. Walk with us.

    About Fostering Kindness:

"Fostering Kindness is a growing Central Florida nonprofit dedicated to supporting youth in foster care. Our mission is to provide these children with meaningful gifts, essential supplies, and special experiences. During the holidays, we focus on teens—the most undeserved population in foster care—by filling giant Santa Sacks with personalized, thoughtful gifts and delivering them on Christmas Eve.

Unlike many organizations, we do not have a cutoff for gift requests. Children enter foster care every day, often after traditional wish list deadlines. To ensure every child in our community can celebrate the holidays with joy, we keep gifts ready year-round."
