  Volunteer with SIM Central Florida at the InfoSec World 2026 Expo. Selected volunteers will receive an Expo Pass and represent SIM CFL at the chapter's partner booth while connecting with technology and cybersecurity professionals from across the industry.

  
  

  VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

  If you are interested in representing SIM CFL at the event, register and indicate your availability for the following days:

  • Monday, October 12: 5:00-7:30 PM (+ booth setup, 2:00-4:00 PM)
  • Tuesday, October 13: 9:30 AM-2:00 PM
  • Tuesday, October 13: 2:00-6:30 PM
  • Wednesday, October 14: 9:30 AM-2:00 PM (+ booth teardown, Expo close-7:00 PM)

  Volunteers may rotate throughout the day, allowing one member to attend a keynote while the other staffs the SIM CFL booth. Both members will be present at the SIM CFL booth during meals and breaks.

  
  

  PARKING REIMBURSEMENT

  Volunteers will be reimbursed for parking expenses. A parking receipt is required for reimbursement.

  
  

  VOLUNTEER SELECTION PROCESS

  Volunteers for each day will be selected by drawing based on indicated availability. Every effort will be made to schedule up to eight volunteers to maximize member participation and event access.

  • Deadline to register: October 4
  • Selected volunteers notified: October 5
  • Volunteer confirmation required: October 6
  • Volunteer names due to organizer: October 7

  If a selected volunteer does not reconfirm availability by October 6, an alternate will be selected from the remaining volunteer pool for that day.

  AI is astonishingly good at things we once thought required human intelligence. But before we decide what that means for our organizations, our professions, and our jobs, we should ask some more basic questions. What do we mean by intelligence? What does it mean to simulate it? Is prediction intelligence? And what has AI actually changed? This presentation explores the good, the bad, and the ugly of AI while stepping back from the hype to ask a deceptively simple question: What has AI actually changed?

  
  

  GUEST SPEAKER: STEVE BLACK

  Steve Black, a Professor of Law at Texas Tech University, has taught at seven law schools and two business schools, and he focuses on cybersecurity, technology, privacy, money, and the law. He began coding at age 12, works with students on entrepreneurship and technology, and is teaching himself to play the ukulele.   Tech Leaders Think Pink is a team of local technology leaders — including SIM CFL members — committed to supporting those impacted by breast cancer. We walk to stand with survivors and help fund vital patient services and research.

  Funds raised support the American Cancer Society by providing transportation to treatment, lodging, 24/7 support resources, and ongoing breast cancer research.
