State of the Employment Market

It's been a quarter since we talked about the history of the labor movement and discussed amongst ourselves what we're facing today.  This month, Dr. Carlos Colón Riollano will discuss Project Management and his organizational culture approach.   Afterwards, we will open the floor for questions about current state of the market and what organizations can do to improve hiring.



Bio for Dr. Colón Riollano :

Dr. Colón Riollano described himself as lifelong learner who enjoy sharing work life issues, and intelligent conversations over a hot cup of coffee, plus give back to my fellow colleagues, academic community and other project and design thinkers practitioners.

Carlos holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Management from Capella University, one Master’s Degree in Technology Management, another Master’s degree in Design Thinking from University of Barcelona and a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems. He is working toward completing a third Master degree in Industrial Psychology. Holder of the following professional certifications: PMP, PMI-ACP (Agile), PMI-SP (Scheduling), PMI-RMP (Risk Management), PMI-PBA (Business Analysis), PMI OPM3P, PMI RCP, MCTS (MS Project 2007), CQIA (Quality), PSM (Professional Scrum Master), CSOXP (Sarbanes Oxley Professional), SAFe ASM (Advance Scrum Mater) and DAWIA (I and II). He is a Principal Consultant for DXC Technology and also a senior partner of Riollano & Associates, Inc., an organizational culture and project management firm specialized in organizational project management, culture assessment and trainings. He has more than 20 years of experience managing projects in the areas of: Oil and Gas, Banking, Petrochemicals, Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, Transportation, Information Systems and Government. Along with another group of professionals, he founded the Puerto Rico chapter of PMI in 1999, where he served as first vice-president of the chapter; helped as mentor and founding member of the PMI chapter in the Dominican Republic, and also active member of the chapters of PMI Memphis, and PMI Colombia (Bogotá).

He had the opportunity to help PMOs and OPM projects for a wide variety of organizations in Puerto Rico, Colombia, Brazil, Quatar, Dominican Republic, Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Saudi Arabia and Africa. Dr. Colón was an adjunct professor (departments of Science and Mathematics and Business Administration) for the Inter-American University for the last 18 years, adjunct professor for University of Phoenix, Ana G. Méndez University and most recently Universidad Galileo in Guatemala. Since 2009 Dr. Colón actively participate as part of the PMP, ACP, SP, PBA exam questions workshops. In July 2012 he published his first book "OPM3 and Organizational Culture", he just finalized his second book about The Organizational Culture Approach.
